The Wiki Journal is for wiki publishing of articles about wiki phenomena. For example, articles exploring the challenges and rewards of working in a wiki environment are welcome. The Wiki Journal also accepts review articles. These can be formal peer review articles or reviews of existing wikis and wiki projects. The Wiki Journal encourages all authors and reviewers to register a user name and associate their work with their real name.

The Wiki Journal can intitially serve as an example of how the wiki publishing system can function and as a place for proposals about how to set up a working wiki publishing system.

Steps in the wiki publishing process[]

  1. The Wiki Journal is an "open" journal. If you wish to bring an article you have written to the attention of the Wiki Journal community, place the {{Wiki Journal}} template at the start of your article. For details, see the Instructions to authors.
  2. You can draft your article in a wiki environment. See preliminary drafts.
  3. When your article is ready for peer review, use the Peer Review template.
  4. If you wish to write a formal peer review article of an article marked by the {{Wiki Journal}} template, you must mark your formal peer review article with the {{Wiki Journal}} template. Formal peer review articles that review an article of the Wiki Journal are themselves subject to peer review. See Wiki Journal:Instructions for reviewers.

Guide to the wiki world[]

Participate in a community effort to construct a guide to the world of wiki and wiki-related phenomena. Initially this can be a list of existing wikis. It would be useful to have short descriptions of each wiki in the list. The Guide can also grow to include articles that discuss specific wiki phenomena.
